There are several dozen cloud gaming services today, using various models of interaction with the end consumer. It makes no sense to list them all, and that is not the goal of today’s material. It is much more interesting to look at specific examples and see how beneficial their use will be from the player’s point of view. We have chosen three of the most popular platforms among those officially available on the European market and compared their capabilities and prices for renting computational power.
Miraplay.Cloud
Miraplay.cloud is one of the best gaming services with a TRIAL period, hourly payment, and unlimited tariff for 30 calendar days. This service allows you to play with resolutions up to 4K on ultra graphics settings on the weakest Windows laptop or desktop computer.
Free trial period 30 minutes.
Maximum video stream quality: 4K, Full HD, 60 FPS, graphics settings are set manually by the user.
- Excellent technical support.
- Operating systems: Windows 11, 10 x64, 7 x64, MacOS
- Supported platforms: Steam, Battle.net, Epic Games Store, Wargaming, Origin.
LoudPlay
- Maximum video stream quality: Full HD, 60 FPS, graphics settings are manually set by the user.
- Operating systems: Windows 10.
LoudPlay’s approach is very interesting: subscribers of the service are provided with a virtual machine with the Windows 10 operating system and pre-installed launchers for popular digital game stores. But if you wish, you can install any other application (for example, for working with 3D graphics) or, so to speak, use the “people’s demo”, since the owners of the service have not forgotten about the torrent client.
PlayKey
- Maximum video stream quality: Full HD, 60 FPS, graphics settings are set automatically (medium high for AAA titles).
- Supported platforms: Steam, Origin, Battle.net, Epic Games Store, Uplay, Riot Games, Bethesda, Gaijin, Wargaming, Mail.ru.
A slightly different approach is used here: you connect your account to the service on Steam, Origin or another digital store from the list of supported ones and after that you will be able to play any purchased game (distributions of popular titles are already installed on the servers, but if your game is not among them, you will have to wait for it to load). You will not be able to use any third-party applications: PlayKey is positioned as a purely gaming platform and does not provide direct access to virtual machines.
GFN (GeForce Now)
- Maximum video stream quality: 4K, 60 FPS, maximum graphics settings, including RTX.
- Supported platforms: Steam, Epic Games Store, Uplay, Riot Games, Wargaming, Mail.ru.
This service gives you the opportunity to play with a resolution of up to 4K on high graphics settings, with the only limitation being the duration of one session – no more than 6 hours in a row (after this period you need to connect to the service again). Among the disadvantages is a relatively meager library: in GFN you can only play games from the platform’s catalog.
