In 2025, the legendary DOOM franchise will reappear — not on screens, but on tabletop. Publisher Modiphius Entertainment, known for board game adaptations of famous IPs like Fallout and Star Trek, has officially announced two new miniatures-based board games: DOOM – Arena Board Game, inspired by the original 1993 game, and DOOM: The Dark Ages – Arena Board Game, based on the upcoming medieval-themed entry in the series.
Gameplay and Core Mechanics
Both titles feature arena-based tactical battles using hex-grid maps. Players can choose to take on the role of the Doom Slayer or command demonic legions. Each match lasts three escalating rounds, where players unleash devastating weapons, abilities, and iconic monsters straight from the franchise.
The games share a unified ruleset, making it easy to switch between them or combine elements. The upcoming Kickstarter campaign will also introduce various expansions, including new characters like Atlantech Mech and the serrated Mecha Dragon.

Key Features
- High-quality miniatures based on classic and modern DOOM visuals
- Asymmetric gameplay with distinct playstyles for demons and the Slayer
- Modular hex maps for diverse arena setups
- Competitive duels or team-based battles
