The American studio Santa Monica, developer of the epic God of War: Ragnarok, has announced a major update titled Dark Odyssey Collection, celebrating the franchise’s 20th anniversary. The release date is set for March 20, 2025. The update includes new content, visual upgrades, and gameplay features.
Appearance, Armor, and Skins
According to the company, the collection will be free of charge for both digital game owners and subscribers of affiliated cloud gaming platforms.
The update pays tribute to the original game. As a bonus skin, players will receive a striking black-and-gold Kratos outfit. To unlock it, you must complete the story on any difficulty and start a New Game+.
God of War: Ragnarok is the ninth installment in the series and a direct sequel to the 2018 setting. The anniversary collection includes:
- the mentioned Dark Odyssey Kratos skin,
- matching armor for Kratos,
- dark armor set for Atreus,
- themed armor and dress for Freya.
The armor includes chestplate, bracers, belt for the scabbard, and other accessories. New custom weapon mounts are added, available at the max upgrade level.

Dark Odyssey Shield Skins and Equipment
The update also includes:
- a powerful Leviathan Axe styled after the Blade of Chaos,
- the Draupnir Spear with new attachments,
- Gold-Ash Guardian Shield,
- a stone wall-mounted defense tool effective against strong enemies,
- the Rush Shield, available after your first battle with Garm in Helheim.
For customization lovers, a new precision editing feature has been introduced — allowing fine-tuning of weapons, skins, and armor for a personalized combat look.
